Detailed Description of Services

Automated Defragmentation - In the context of administering compter systems, defragmentation (or defragging) is a process that reduces the amount of fragmentation in file systems. Operating system vendors recommend periodic defragmentation to keep disk access speed from degrading over time.

Automated Hard Disk Scan - A utility that scans your hard disk for errors caused by improper shutdowns, viruses, and other problems all the way down to bad sectors on the hard drive. We scan and correct errors to your computer and fix damage caused to critical files, improving system performance in the process.

Delete Browser Cache - Files stored in your cache take up space. This is also where viruses and spyware can hide.  We make adjustments so they can no longer hide here.  We also clear out the files stored in your cache to free up some space on your computer. This is called clearing the cache.

Delete Temporary Files - More than just temporary Internet files. Temporary program files are files used to store data currently being worked on, files when you install new programs, or information to be swapped with the operating system or other programs. These files are constantly created, but there is no process that automatically clears them out, which can cause several negative issues. We have found that deleting these files can help prevent issues and resolve performance problems with the computer. 

Disk Drive Analysis - We will scan and analyze the capacity of your hard drive.  If your hard drive is utilizing over 80% of the disk space, your system can slow to a snails pace.  We monitor and adjust this to keep your machine’s performance optimized.

Monthly Reporting - You will receive regular communication and executive reports to let you know the overall health of your computer network and the results of our services. All communication and issues associated with your users and systems is tracked, reported and retained for analytical, historical and audit purposes.

Networkwide System Auditing - We will conduct full systems audits that can be used to document all the relevant information about your IT hardware and software. We will identify the type of systems audit you require and ensure we collate meaningful information that can be used for financial, logistical and IT strategy planning.

Spyware Filtering & Scanning - Spyware can be anywhere in your network or on your machine. This is the most common cause of slow operating systems. We are routinely running anti-spyware programs that attack and kill all spyware and malware.

Virus Protection & Scanning - Most companies already own and run some sort of anti-virus program.  If you do not, you need to. MB&A will monitor this program to make sure the definitions are up to date and your systems are protected.

Windows (Security) Patch Management - Hackers are constantly trying to develop ways to circumvent Microsoft operating systems and browsers. Microsoft is constantly providing updates and patches.  These patches require testing and consideration before being pushed out to all of your systems.  MB&A thoroughly evaluates, tests, and makes sure patches will work on your system before we will apply them your workstations and servers. Everyone’s needs are different.

Workstation Log Monitoring - Proactive workstation log monitoring is critical to security, network performance and the overall operations of the organization. This is a time consuming process that we automate and review for you so that problems are detected and resolved before they affect your network.

24x7 Application Change Monitoring - We can monitor installation of unwanted applications from the users of your network.  This could be anything from Itunes to malware, instant messengers, chat rooms, to ensure your people and your networks remain productive.

24x7 Backup Log Monitoring- Chances are your back-up tape fails frequently.  We ensure that this is operating properly and your systems truly are being backed up.

24x7 Internet Connection Monitoring - Is your internet service not working?  How long do you spend trying to figure out what the problem is?  We constantly monitor this for you to help make sure you are always online.

24x7 Server Log Monitoring - Proactive server log monitoring is critical to security, network performance and the overall operations of the organization. This is a time consuming process that we automate and review for you so that problems are caught before they affect your network.

8x5 Unlimited Remote Tech Support - Monday through Friday, eight hours a day, we will help you keep you operating with our remote help desk.  You have unlimited access to report problems or get assistance.  You can even report problems directly from an icon on your desktop.

Account Creation & Deletion - Adding a new employee or getting rid of an old one?  We can help to make this a smooth process in regards to your network.

Application Blocking - we can block the installation of unwanted applications from the users of your network.  This could be anything from itunes to malware, instant messengers, chat rooms, to ensure your people and your networks remain productive.

Bandwidth & Application Usage Tracking - Do you know who is using most of your company’s bandwidth?  Are your employees spending their days on itunes or wasting system resources downloading videos or even porn?  We can track your bandwidth and application usage to make sure your systems resources are being utilized properly.

Email Support - whether you host your own email servers or outsource it, MB&A can help support, troubleshoot, and repair your email system.

Guaranteed Onsite Response Time - Next business day onsite response time is guaranteed for our
standard offering, same day within 4 hours for our premium clients.  If the situation is critical, do not worry.  Ask any of our clients how MB&A responds in emergencies.  We will keep you up and running.

Guaranteed Remote Response Time - When you call in or email a help request, we will guarantee a 2-hour response time to your problem with our standard plan.  If you want immediate assistance, consider our premium service option that includes immediate access to our expert technicians.

Onsite Disaster Recovery (Server + 1 Base Workstation) - At MB&A’s expense we will install an additional storage device that will back up your critical servers and a base workstation on a daily basis.  This will act as a supplement to your tape back up that significantly reduces downtime in the event of a failure. 

Router & Firewall Support - No matter what type of router or firewall you are using, we will support and maintain its functionality.  This includes issues related to your VPN.

Service Pack Installation - One to Two times a year Microsoft releases large updates to the operating systems. These service packs require testing and consideration before being pushed out to all of your systems.  MB&A thoroughly evaluates, tests, and makes sure it will work on your system before we will apply to your workstations and servers.  Everyone’s networks are different, we understand this.

Spyware Removal - In the event spyware does make it through to your system, MB&A will take responsibility to locate and remove or destroy it and at the same time restore your workstations to their appropriate condition.

User Login Support - can’t log in to your computer?  It could be anything from a password issue, to a bad NIC card in the computer, to a cabling issue.  MB&A will troubleshoot and resolve any and all login issues you may encounter.

Virus Removal - Just because you run an anti-virus program doesn’t mean you won’t get viruses.  In fact hackers and viruses are evolving and changing daily.  When one does make it through to your system, MB&A will take responsibility to locate, remove, and destroy it and at the same time restore your workstations to their appropriate condition.

24x7 Emergency Help Desk - If you have an emergency outside of business hours or on a weekend, we have an emergency response line for you to call.

8x5 Unlimited Onsite Tech Support - Not only is our onsite response time is guaranteed, but it’s included for Level 3 Premium customers (for repair and maintenance issues).  If you want onsite assistance for moves, add-ons, or changes, that would be a billable item (at a very low rate of course). Alternatively, we will do our best to assist you for free over the phone.

End User Remote Control - we enable your employees to access their desktop with full capabilities safely, securely, and from anywhere.

Offsite Disaster Recovery Storage -  provided you have T1 or faster for your data connection, we will provide you up to 50GBs of secure offsite storage ($4 per month per GB over 50GB) to back up critical data. This offsite storage location is in a secure, underground, fireproof facility. In the unfortunate event of a disaster, your critical data is secure and available to restore to another server.
